I saw the writers of these three books recently at Cheltenham Literature Festival; they‘ve all performed #Superfeats that are the basis for their books. Lara Prior-Palmer became the first woman, and youngest person, to win the Mongol Derby, a 1,000 mile horse race, Mimi Anderson is a world-record breaking ultra distance runner, and Emily Chappell won the 2016 4,000km Transcontinental cycle race.

Rough Magic: Riding the World's Loneliest Horse Race
TheEllieMo @Cinfhen been super-busy again today so haven‘t had a chance to scroll through Litsy yet! Just had a look at your post now, though. I have to say, seeing these three together was interesting - Emily & Mimi were in their 30s when they started their chosen events, and sacrificed a lot, whereas Lara was so much more cavalier! 5y
Cinfhen Was she likeable??? I think some readers found her flippant 5y

TheEllieMo @Cinfhen she came across as what she is, someone from a very privileged background who‘s never had to worry about anything in her life and is free to do whatever she wants 5y
