A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be the winner of @TheSpineView 's #Two4TuesdayGiveaway. Just look at the lovely things she sent me! I'm delighted with them, Lisa, thank you so much 💕 I didn't realise I was asking you for a hardcover when I nominated this book, so it was super generous of you to include the extras as well. You're a star!

Mehso-so

While I liked the jumps back and forth in time, this felt a little too contrived. And the way it wrapped up didn‘t really sit well with me.

#AugustTBR time. I read a LOT in July but I had a lot of library holds come in. I doubt I‘ll get through even half of these this month but I‘m gonna try!

I can count on enjoying anything by Marisa de los Santos. This is full of emotional depth, themes of redemption, and characters I fell in love with. The interweaving past & present storylines were done really well, and although I thought the daughter‘s perspective came in a bit late, I do love the way de los Santos writes an endearingly wise-beyond-her-years teenage girl. My favorites are still the Love Walked In books, but this is up there!

Marisa de los Santos just did a Zoom with my book club and it was amazing. 💕💕
She is so sweet. I highly recommend all of her books.

ErikasMindfulShelf @CarolynM Me too! Her books always leave me in a good mood. She has such likable characters even though they are flawed. 5y

This book was a very fast read that touched on so many controversial topics. From infidelity to arson to discrimination, on and on. I grew to like the characters, as they seemed genuine. Their reactions to the dilemmas that they faced seemed realistic. Thank you Goodreads for another excellent ARC. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a fast paced, interesting read.

Today‘s #MayARC publishes today (5/12). De los Santos writes novels of women finding out who they are authentically and who they want to be.

What a great book! I loved this story of high school friends 20 years later, looking back at a traumatic shared experience and how it changed their relationship dynamics. There‘s also a deep family drama in here. I really liked this, even though I saw the end coming.

This author never fails to hold my attention.

Thank you to the publisher and Library Thing‘s Early Reviewers program for the ARC.

Publishes in May. 😊📚

CarolynM I really like her books. Stacked 5y

I enjoyed this author‘s earlier books, and then the last few have been just okay. But I liked this one! A quick read, but I enjoyed some of the witty banter between characters.

Soubhiville I‘m glad you liked it! I have the ARC as well. 5y

This was great it too short! The ending crept up on me and happened too quickly. #WinterGames #TeamNutcracker @Bookworm54 @StayCurious @Clwojick #TBRReads
