Weak pick; the setup and middle were, due to elements in the plot (I deal with tech bros in real life let's not make me deal with them in fiction) , slow and not super interesting. Picked up at the 75% mark and did a bait-and-switch only topped by the first novel of the series (Rivers of London). So the average is still a passing grade, but I would only assign 3 stars if I did assign stars.

1) I laughed 2) FINALLY got number eight after a completely unreasonable duration of it being in the mail

Finished this one about a month ago. I read this book in bits of pieces, so I wasn't all that invested. The case to solve also had a different approach which took some getting used to. The story went back and forth in time. It was enjoyable enough. I am glad I'm almost done with this series.
TBR since October 15th. 2021; 404 pages.

KathyWheeler A new one is coming out in April. 3y

When you are in Paris and everyone is queuing for dior, chanel, Vuitton in the neighbourhood and you just shop for books, you know you are a bookworm ;)

Ben Aaronovitch doesn‘t have Americans totally down, but this part seemed about right.

Having a quick lunch before I continue assembling the sewing pattern for my daughter's new dress.

Buechersuechtling Good luck with the sewing 🧵. I hope she will like it. – And, of course, happy weekend-reading to you. 📚☀️ 4y
Deifio @Buechersuechtling Thank you. I think she will, she chose the fabric. And she'll get 4 new dresses, all from the one pattern, but different variations. I think that'll make her happy, she loves dresses ☺️ Happy weekend reading to you too! 4y

Another great Rivers of London book. I thoroughly enjoy spending an afternoon with each new installment.

I like the Rivers of London series so much. This volume had Peter undercover in a nerdy tech company; his nerdy coworkers, Victor and Everest, really grew on me. Nightingale got to act like a spy and get into a cool magic fight with another master magician. There were kickass librarians. Beverly was amazing, like always. And Peter got to give a Turing Test.

No spoilers.
I just enjoyed this much more than the last. It was easier to get into and keeo up with (for the most part). So many nerdy references and I definitely didn't get them all. Bjt fun drinking game if you take a shot for the ones that you DO get.

I love Foxglove.

Argh! Still haven‘t finished Mr Loverman because the world won‘t let me but now the new Aaronovitch is out! So looking forward to that! I need to grow another set of ears or take a holiday and both are equally as likely ...
