A lost letter, a new love, and old secrets beckon this summer at the Bluebell Inn. When their parents die in a tragic accident, Molly Bennett and her siblings pull together to fulfill their parents dream: turning their historic Bluebell, North Carolina home back into an inn. The situation would just be temporarythree years at the mostthen they would sell the inn and Molly could get back to chasing her own dreams. Adam Bradford (aka bestselling author Nathanial Grey) is a reclusive novelist with a bad case of writers block. Desperate for inspiration as his deadline approaches, he travels to the setting of his next book, a North Carolina lake town. There he immediately meets his muse, a young innkeeper who fancies herself in love with his alter ego. Molly and Adam strike up an instant friendship. When Molly finds a long-lost letter in the walls of her inn she embarks on a mission with Adam to find the star-crossed lovers and bring them the closure they deserve. But Adam has secrets of his own. Past and present collide as truths are revealed, and Molly and Adam will have to decide if love is worth trusting.

Well done! Bring on the nerdy heroes. Cerebral guys who know too much useless trivia can be attractive too.

I enjoyed this sweet, heartwarming first book in series centering around a trio of siblings who tragically lose both parents and step up to open an inn in NC that was their parent‘s dream. This is Molly‘s love story but also includes a second love story dating back to 1962. As Molly and Adam work together to locate the intended recipient of a lost letter discovered at the inn (previously post office), they slowly begin to lower their defenses ⬇️

robinb and learn to trust and love again. Would definitely read the next in series. 4/5⭐️ #ThomasNelson #NetGalley 5y
TheAromaofBooks For some unknown reason, I have a weakness for stories about people who own inns/hotels/etc. Also love stories about siblings working together so... this might be my jam! :-D 5y
robinb @TheAromaofBooks I know what you mean! LOL There‘s a lot more to the story than I mentioned, and it has an especially heartwarming wrap up. 😊 Let me know what you think if you try it! Just came out last month. 5y

As an author I've met more than once, I devour every new book and Hallmark movie released from Denise Hunter. I recommend and gift her titles often. I broke my pact and read her newest book, the first in a new series. It's hard to pick favorites from authors you enjoy but this book is definitely my favorite by Denise to date. For her first attempt at time-slip she nailed it! Memorable characters, back stories, setting, and emotional storyline. 5☆

Lake Season is an excellent novel for so many reasons — the highly engaging plotline, the superb characters (especially Adam!!!), and the resonating themes. But Lake Season is one of my most favorite stories this year because it reinforces how important it is to tell our loved ones how much they mean to us in the here and now.

The Bluebell Inn brings innkeeper Molly Bennett and writer Adam Bradford together for a summer that has the potential to change their lives—only, do they have the courage to accept the changes?

I‘ve loved almost everything by Denise Hunter, so I‘m not surprised to love this book, too. I can‘t wait to revisit the inn for Levi‘s story.

Adam and Molly strike up a friendship, and together they embark on a summer filled with love, heart-ache, old and new secrets and a journey to finding lasting peace, contentment, joy and love. Adam‘s ability to overcome his father‘s rejection showed an inner strength and courage not many people find. I loved the plot twist at the end! Didn‘t quite see that one coming.

I received this book from Celebrate-Lit for my honest review.

I loved the new Denise Hunter book! I was smiling and happy when I finished this story. Her books are some of my favorites to reread and I‘m already impatient for the next book in this series. In particular, this one has a past and present dual timeline that had great connections and common themes. So good!!

Denise Hunter‘s books are gut-wrenching, soul-stirring, heart-breaking, redemptive and utterly romantic. This first book in the new series is no exception. The author does throw in a bit of split-time twist to the plot, which is something new in her writing style. Her attention to detail in the plot and characterization is incredible, her writing is easy to follow, the plot moves at a good pace and her characters are lovable. Totally enjoyable!

Molly Bennett and her siblings find themselves having to pull together fulfill their parents‘ dream: turning their historic Bluebell, North Carolina home back into an inn after the unexpected loss of their parents to a tragic accident. This would be a temporary situation, three years at the most and then the siblings could get back to chasing their own dreams.
