What a slog. So much promised in the blurb, but this is a very well researched and detailed anthropological study, followed by an equally through look at historical medical texts. If you are looking for a remotely practical exploration of menopause this is not it. #ARC

I just read this fantastic article on The Atlantic‘s site. It covers three books on women and aging - the most interesting of which, for me, I tagged. It apparently makes the argument that post-menopausal women provided an evolutionary edge to early societies. As a biologist, I‘m curious to read this book.
