pickSlowly getting through my 6 books by her. She is very prolific. After these probably won‘t read her again. This one I enjoyed more than the last two. About a downed pilot in wartime Belgium. Adventure, suspense, romance and ok ending. And of course her lovely descriptions and writing. Published in 1995.
Came upon a table with 10 books for a dollar. Didn‘t get 10 but took these 6. Not sure if I‘ve read them. I‘m thinking I‘ve only ever read a couple of her books. Couldn‘t pass these by. So I shall see.
pickIn German-occupied #Belgium Claire, married to a member of the Resistance, is used to hiding people in the attic but Ted, an American pilot, is different. This book is set over a period of a month after Ted‘s plane crash lands, when he‘s rescued by a young local boy, and Claire and Ted become ever closer. Heartbreaking and terrible; I loved it.

pickAnother Belgium-set novel, this time with a wartime plot about the WW2 resistance movement in the country and an illicit romance. I've never read any Anita Shreve before, but I really liked this. She has quite a detailed, intense way of writing.
pickVery sad news about the passing of Anita Shreve. Resistance will always be one of my favourite books. The love affair between Claire and Ted is one that will live with me forever.
I have read quite a few of Anita Shreve's books over the years and have enjoyed all of them. Such a beautiful storyteller who will be missed.
It‘s been awhile since I‘ve read one of Anita‘s books. This one is having no problem drawing me in.
Found this old water damaged book out alone in the rain. And like any true bookworm, it broke my heart so I am giving it a home. Can't wait to read this beautiful looking book.. 😍📚
