I enjoyed reading Laurie Penny's debut into fiction. This novella was well written with a strong voice and engaging prose, but the character development was weak in the short format. I look forward to seeing more works of fiction from Penny in the future (please!). I appreciated her stressing the importance of art and necessity for artists. Scientists + artists working together is how we move forward as a species.

This novella packs a punch: world building in a pharmadystopia, intriguing characters, and a killer ending.

On vacation this week! Today's #beachread is this Tor novella, which is a scifi story about a future where anti-aging technology allows people to live decades longer--if they are wealthy or deemed "essential" to society. Of course, this leads to all sorts of conflict. Really interesting so far!

I'm a big fan of Laurie Penny's nonfiction. This is my first foray into reading her fiction and I was not disappointed.

Pretty good. A little blunt at times but it's a solid premise and well written in pretty much every other way.
