Bridge to Haven
Bridge to Haven | Francine Rivers
To those who matter in 1950s Hollywood, Lena Scott is the hottest rising star to hit the silver screen since Marilyn Monroe. Few know her real name is Abra. Even fewer know the price shes paid to finally feel like shes somebody. To Pastor Ezekiel Freeman, Abra will always be the little girl who stole his heart the night he found her, a wailing newborn abandoned under a bridge on the outskirts of Haven. Zeke and his son, JoshuaAbras closest friendwatch her grow into an exotic beauty. But Zeke knows the circumstances surrounding her birth have etched scars deep in her heart, scars that leave her vulnerable to a fast-talking charmer who lures her to Tinseltown. Hollywood feels like a million miles from Haven, and naive Abra quickly learns whats expected of an ambitious girl with stars in her eyes. But fame comes at a devastating price. She has burned every bridge to get exactly what she thought she wanted. Now all she wants is a way back home. In this riveting and highly anticipated tale of temptation, grace, and unconditional love, New York Times bestselling author Francine Rivers delivers big-canvas storytelling at its very best.

I didn't care for the beginning of the story. I guess I got too wrapped up in all the poor choices being made and it depressed me. It didn't turn around and keep me interested until the last half. I think the way it was written didn't appeal to me either. I have heard a lot of good things about this author, so I will probably try another book, but this one just wasn't for me.

❤️ Another uplifting book. Loved the characters in this story. The ending was great as well. Although there was one character I was hoping would be wrapped up in a better way it made sense and overall I was happy.

Such a good book! My heart aches for Abra through so much of what she goes through. I wish that her coming to Jesus moment had been a bit more written out but I also understand it being that sudden of a moment.
