The New Urban Crisis
The New Urban Crisis: How Our Cities Are Increasing Inequality, Deepening Segregation, and Failing the Middle Class and What We Can Do About It | Richard Florida
"Richard Florida offers a brilliant assessment of the varied and evolving challenges facing our cities today.... The New Urban Crisis is essential reading for urban leaders and all city-dwellers." --Richard M. Daley, former mayor of Chicago In The New Urban Crisis, Richard Florida demonstrates how the forces that drive urban growth also generate cities' challenges, such as gentrification, segregation, and inequality. We must rebuild cities and suburbs by empowering them to address their challenges. The New Urban Crisis offers a compelling diagnosis of our economic ills and a bold prescription for more inclusive cities capable of ensuring prosperity for all.

#TBRtemptation post! I'm very excited about this book, coming out in April. The library received an ARC, so I'm going to see about reading it ???. Florida wrote the highly-acclaimed & prescient "Rise of the Creative Class", which correctly predicted a societal trend to return to cities. This book's a bit of a sequel, discussing: gentrification, unaffordability, segregation, a disappearing middle-class, etc. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook ?

elephantparty I'll have to check this out! I read City of Quartz and loved all of it! 8y
