The Gentle Giants of Ganymede
The Gentle Giants of Ganymede | James P. Hogan
4 posts | 2 read | 6 to read
Long before the world of the Ganymeans blew apart, millennia ago, the strange race of giants had vanished. All that remained of them was a wrecked ship, abandoned on a frozen moon of Jupiter. Now Earth's scientists were there, determined to ferret out the secret of the lost race. Then suddenly the Ganymeans returned, bringing with them answers that would alter all Mankind's knowledge of human origins . . .

#sundayfunday a wee bit late

Husband used to edit a sci fi newsletter and I met a number of sci fi authors when we attended some conferences. The most memorable was James Hogan mainly because I read some of his books. Skipping the super technical stuff, his stories were amazing (like the tagged). Also met Gregory Benford and Brad Lineaweaver. Probably more but this was in the 1990s and my memory fades

I‘d like to meet Lisa See & James Rollins

BookmarkTavern That must have been so cool! Thanks for answering! 8mo

James Hogan was an amazing author whom I had the honor of meeting many years ago. His science is a bit too scientific for me but getting past that, his stories of freedom-loving civilizations were brilliantly told. His passing made me infinitely sad. I'm not a huge scifi reader but I read these at my husband's suggestion and loved them. So I choose scifi in the #fantasyorscifi race to dominance. #octphotochallenge

Book two of the inherit the stars trilogy.

Texreader Love Hogan. Had the wonderful opportunity to meet him and several other greats and went to dinner with them decades ago. A true loss when he passed. Not a scifi reader but this guy could tell a gorgeous story. Will try to read more of his works. This series was awesome. 9y
Jamesmelvinmitchell @Texreader I would of loved to have met him. This was also one of my favorite series. 9y
