I was looking forward to Rydstroms book but alas I was severely let down. I loved Rydstrom as a background character but the whole sexual enslaving each other thing that went on with this book was cringy and it felt like it dragged on FOREVER. The last 100 pages were the only exciting parts. None of the chapters left me wanting more it was just slow, boring and cringy.

I enjoyed this one, but I'm noticing some disturbing treatment of females in this series that's becoming concerning. I'm hoping the stories start to back off on that.

If it's the woman that's rapey it's all cool, right? And then if the dude gets rapey to "punish her", that's cool too?

The answer to those questions is a hard no. This is supposedly the most popular book in the series and I haven't listened to the #fatedmates episode yet but I'm super curious to hear their thoughts on this romance. I get the ultimate HEA and it works but some of the steps along the way made me too uncomfortable.

The winds are howling and the next two days are going to be ridiculously cold (-50 windchill) . But right now I'm cozy in bed and about to continue my re-read of the Immortals After Dark series. #fatedmatespodcast #romantsy

I don't read every Kresley Cole novel she releases, but I do enjoy the female characters she creates. They are definitely feisty! I didn't feel like the characters connected well in this romance, but the action carried it enough to keep me engaged. And who isn't amused by Nix?

This is one of my favorites. Cole writing is funny, irreverent, and unpredictable. This isn't the first in the series. You can read the out of order, especially books 1-5. After that, I recommend reading in order as there is an over-arching plot.
