I really love historical fiction inspired by what is probably history's most famous (or infamous) dysfunctional family: the Tudors, specifically Henry VIII and his wives and children. As historical facts go, this book seems quite well-researched (thought I didn't find that out until the end, when I read the author's note) but something in the way it was written left me a little cold — despite the intriguing subject matter. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book is making me want to watch The Tudors again. In fact, I think I might start right now, and distract myself while folding laundry 😬
Back to one of my favorite genres: historical fiction ? I have a soft spot for the Tudor era, especially all around Henry VIII and his wives, so when I saw this for Q9 in a charity shop in Kent, I just grabbed it ?
