I liked this. I often am not a fan of fantasy (although I generally do better with children‘s fantasy, as this is) and talking animals, this was cute, and I liked all the characters, including those talking animals. I gave it the extra ¼ star for the twist at the end. Max has mostly solved the mystery of where he came from, etc, but he learns more from the “wizard” and I thought that twist was very clever – I did love the twist!

Book five down for #BookSpinBonanza! Overall, very enjoyable. I picked this up because I love all the Fables books by Bill Willingham & wanted to read more of his work.

I couldn't find Isadora to pose, so Inara had to stand in. Clearly the book smelled good because she was trying to eat it! 😂

Books six & seven for the #BookSpinBonanza are quite long...I hope to make it through at least one more before the end of the month!

hannah-leeloo Pretty kitty. Good job with your reading, I'm falling behind. Happy reading and weekend hun 📖❤️📚 5y
TheAromaofBooks I'm not sure I would have noticed the difference between the two orange cats if you hadn't mentioned it, although Inara seems to lack Isadora's death glare, so there's that 😂 5y
faelinwolf @hannah-leeloo Thanks! I hope you have a good reading weekend in your garden & can catch up! 5y

faelinwolf @TheAromaofBooks I guess the lighting must make Inara look a little orange, but really she's a brown/gray tabby! 😄 Another way to tell them apart (in some pictures)--Isadora only has three legs! 5y
hannah-leeloo @faelinwolf thank you. I'm getting there haha 📚❤️📖 5y
TheAromaofBooks Three legs!! That's crazy!! Maybe that's why she usually has the death glare! 😂 5y

Max meets a badger, a cat, and a bear, all of whom can talk and have just arrived in a new land, none of them having any idea how they arrived there. They band together in search of answers.

This is a fun middle grade book I read for #BBRC, middle grade, over 250 pages.

LibrarianRyan I loved that bill did a mg when he‘s most known for MG 5y

My September TBR is pretty ambitious! I‘m already at least halfway through three of these though, so that helps. This stack includes one for #authoramonth, five for #BBRC, five by authors for the #TXBookFestival2020, and the #BOTMBuddyRead. I‘m not sure I‘ll get to everything, but it‘ll be fun to try!
