pickI read this book thirty years ago and remain amazed it is not well known. A story set approximately twenty years after the Trojan war. Astyanax son of Hector survived the war and is recruited by the Greek gods to finish what the previous generation started - to end the Bronze Age of heroes and summon in the Iron Age of the ordinary man. A tale where gods walk the earth for a final time, where mistakes are repeated and fate cannot be escaped
