This #nonfiction #audiobook was paired with A Night Divided for the #AudioSync summer program, and it was perfect listening to them back to back. It was fascinating to hear a fictional story of the building and impact of the Berlin Wall in the 1960s followed by this book about Reagan‘s speech in 1987 and the fall of the wall in 1989. The main focus is the speech, but I also appreciated learning more of negotiation and work of Reagan and Gorbachev.

Week 4 #bfc check in @wanderinglynn

Great news this week! My fractures have stabilized and I can start putting weight on my foot (with the boot) AND I got permission to swim.

I hit my goals for the week too: got outside every day and ate a good breakfast every day. Next week‘s goal is to swim at least once, and to get back into my bedtime vitamin routine.

Pictured: first thing I did sans crutches was organize my books OF COURSE.

Onward!

Bookwormjillk Forgot to mention I finished the tagged audiobook 6y

This was a great book to listen to on audio. It began with an interview with the author and was followed by Reagan's speech, the subject of the book. The book then describes Reagan's life and career in a way that isn't overly detailed. The book also discusses the people who were involved in writing the speech and what goes into writing speeches, something I hadn't known much about. It was informative but not heavy. Recommended for young people.

Bookwormjillk I liked it too, and am going to recommend it to my son. 6y
