Very good for someone who is starting to learn about the Plantagenets. It gives a great overview without simplifying the story too much. I definitely recommend it for those who do not know very much about the Plantagenets or those who have not studied English history.

In a weird sort of way the hatred the barons had for the Woodvilles reminds me of the hatred some groups have against other groups here in the US. With Warwick dead and Edward IV dead, the hatred was starting to surface just as with the end of President Obama‘s term and the beginning of President Trump‘s term, much hatred and racism has surfaced in many Americans.

I like how Henry II rode to Hugh de Mortimer‘s castle, And did not attack but waited for Hugh to surrender. From that point, he rode in and rode right back out sending a message that he is the king. I think it‘s an interesting strategy because it makes everyone stop and think, and it shows Henry may turn out to be a just ruler who won‘t necessarily kill those that cross him. It‘s also ironic knowing what happened to Thomas Beckett as well.
