For five centuries, a witch's curse has bound the trolls to their city beneath the ruins of Forsaken Mountain. Time enough for their dark and nefarious magic to fade from human memory and into myth. But a prophesy has been spoken of a union with the power to set the trolls free, and when Ccile de Troyes is kidnapped and taken beneath the mountain, she learns there is far more to the myth of the trolls than she could have imagined. Ccile has only one thing on her mind after she is brought to Trollus: escape. Only the trolls are clever, fast, and inhumanly strong. She will have to bide her time, wait for the perfect opportunity. But something unexpected happens while she's waiting - she begins to fall for the enigmatic troll prince to whom she has been bonded and married. She begins to make friends. And she begins to see that she may be the only hope for the half-bloods - part troll, part human creatures who are slaves to the full-blooded trolls. There is a rebellion brewing. And her prince, Tristan, the future king, is its secret leader. As Ccile becomes involved in the intricate political games of Trollus, she becomes more than a farmer's daughter. She becomes a princess, the hope of a people, and a witch with magic powerful enough to change Trollus forever.

I really liked this one. Goblins and magic. Of course it‘s predictable at times but it was enjoyable 😄 getting my #bookspinbingo filled out a little bit this time!

This book is one I got recently. Jensen is a new author to me. I read one of her books and really loved it so why not try another?
Trying to reacquaint myself with my TBR while on a month long book buying ban.

I honestly think I must have been in a funk while reading this book, for some reason I couldn't completely care about the characters in this book. The feeling kept slipping through my fingers. This had nothing to do with the authors writing, I think the MFC just frustrated me. Her feelings were wishy washy and she was impulsive, getting herself in stupid situations. Big pet peeve for me. Personal preference definitely influenced this rating. 😕

This was interesting. Now i havent watched the movie but I've heard of it nonstop so this reminded me in some parts of The Goblin King. Its got a heavy romance feel and the whole royal family is a hardcore trope but im super curious to read book 2.

I think fans of The Iron Fey will love this series because I definitely liked it 😁
Really great, well-developed charcters. Amazing world building. Just the right pace to the plot and Ioved how it unraveled. No insta love and definitely no love triangles which is so nice. I love this book. Really well written :)

I'm halfway through this book and I find it very slow, very simplistic and very predictable. But it's readable so I'm going to finish it. Love the cover though!
