We have a fun one this week! We are putting on our tuxes and hosting our 2nd Book Oscars. We have a great list of categories this year, covering all the books we read from last year. So sit back and enjoy as select our Best Author, Best Book, Best Scene, and so much more! Also, if that wasn't enough at the end we select a book for March. Thanks for listening!

Two weeks ago Matt walked under a ladder, and the next day Peter had a kidney stone attack and Matt developed nerve pain. Coincidence? Maybe. So after a couple weeks of recovery we're back! And we're discussing a fantastic American classic, Sometimes A Great Notion by Ken Kesey. Join us as we dissect the indelible Stamper family and go into what makes this a classic. High recommend from us both. Enjoy!

Sprawling and occasionally bewildering novel which centres on the uneasy relationship between two brothers in an Oregon logging community. Not an easy read but most definitely rewarding if you stick with it.
#7Days7Books Day 1. The first couple couple chapters completely capture the spot on the planet where I grew up.
@Kdgordon88 I never made it to Crater Lake when we lived out west, but it looks lovely. Thanks! Kesey is now on my TBR.
"For what profit hath a man of all his labor which he taketh under the sun if the trees and the brush and the moss strive everlastingly to take it back?" (Kesey 25).

One great thing about participating in these monthly Litsy challenges, is how many books you discover!
This book sounds amazing. Not so much summary of the story, but the reviews describing the characters within the story
The title is from 'Goodnight Irene' by Led Belly:
??"Sometimes I live in the country
Sometimes I live in town
Sometimes I have a great notion
To jump in the river and drown"??
Great author bio inside my newly-arrived copy of Sometimes A Great Notion
