The Eye of God: A Sigma Force Novel | James Rollins
3 posts | 27 read | 4 to read
In The Eye of God, a Sigma Force novel, New York Times bestselling author James Rollins delivers an apocalyptic vision of a future predicted by the distant past. In the wilds of Mongolia, a research satellite has crashed, triggering an explosive search for its valuable cargo: a code-black physics project connected to the study of dark energy—and a shocking image of the eastern seaboard of the United States in utter ruin. At the Vatican, a package arrives containing two strange artifacts: a skull scrawled with ancient Aramaic and a tome bound in human skin. DNA evidence reveals that both came from the same body: the long dead Mongol king Genghis Khan. Commander Gray Pierce and Sigma Force set out to discover a truth tied to the fall of the Roman Empire, to a mystery going back to the birth of Christianity, and to a weapon hidden for centuries that holds the fate of humanity.

Commander Gray Pierce, and Sigma, joined by a pair of Vatican historians, race to uncover a truth tied to the fall of the Roman Empire, to a mystery bound in the roots of Christianity's origins, and to a weapon hidden for centuries that holds the fate of humanity. I love the Sigma Force series but not this one.

EadieB I found the book to be too convoluted and didn't understand the science that was presented in the book and I found it therefore boring. I loved that Seichen met up with her mother and did enjoy that aspect of the book. I'm just going to mark it as a one off writing for James Rollins and move onto the next book. I did give him 3 stars for writing the book. 1y

Ever since ‘Amazonia' all those years ago I have been a James Rollins fan and I'm happy to be getting back to one of my favourite series. Although not one of the stronger books in the Sigma Force series, 'The Eye of God' offers the armchair explorer a bit of everything - action, adventure, history, science and technology -wrapped up together with strong, intelligent writing and a kickass cast of characters. #seasonalreadingchallenge #takingaction

Rollins is the action/adventure writer for 3 digit IQs! If you want an heroic escape that also requires fast-thinking and in-depth understanding of 'who knows what high-tech/Super smart invention mixed with ancient knowledge and or esoteric understanding' disaster this time: then Rollins is your man! TEoG pits Sigma Force against the cosmos, time and the bad guys! The future and past slam headlong into saving the girl and saving the world!
