not 100% sure what to think of Undertaking of Hart & Mercy yet, it‘s weird, it kind of throws you into a weird world with no preamble & miscommunication trope frustrates me. Pretty pleased with how far I made it into Shadowed Sun bc it is not at all light reading.
It‘s July 3 & I‘ve finished 4 books this month. Can‘t beat that 😂 Thank You @Andrew65
pickA huge number of events & interactions that took this book out of the formula the series had been stuck in.
I mean Kay & Lucy are dramatic as ever and Marino is still a redneck 😂 but the characters got more complex, we got to see the emotional toll recent cases have taken & plotwise this had more twists than a bag of pretzels 🥨

Goals: finish Last Precinct, &Midnight Crossroad… long ago I abandoned this book- time to finish it or admit that Charlaine Harris doesn‘t do it for me anymore, START the Shadowed Sun. Undertaking Hart&Mercy is digital from the library I haven‘t started yet. I had Hooked (Peter pan smut) next but it‘s in Dutch? I don‘t know Dutch. Wicked King, at about 40% & will probably need a 2nd audio but can‘t think of anything to read 😂 #20in4
I decided to give up on waiting for beach weather 😂
Decided to jump back into the Scarpetta series, this pick up IMMEDIATELY from the last books end, which is quite a change from the previous books & I‘m really enjoying it, some of the things Cornwell left off page (including character deaths) or not writing how the characters processed the events made every1 seem erratic. Now the behavior is more in depth, heightened emotions etc

Haven't grown bored of these characters yet. I really like the audio version of Capt Pete Marino 😂
pickBook 11 in the Kay Scarpetta series and it was another solid story. Alot happening as always and I enjoy the fact the book picked up exactly where the last one ended.
I don't really like Scarpetta I find her far too self obsessed, but I'm fully submerged in the series now so going to continue with it and hope she gets her head out of her own arse 😂
