So That Happened
So That Happened: A Memoir | Jon Cryer
3 posts | 5 read | 7 to read
In 1986, Jon Cryer won over America as Molly Ringwald's loyal and lovable best friend Duckie in the cult classic Pretty in Pink (Paramount) and went on to play Alan Harper on the massively popular sitcom Two and a Half Men. With the instincts of a natural storyteller, Cryer charts his extraordinary journey in show business, illuminating his many triumphs and some missteps along the way. Filled with exclusive behind-the-scenes anecdotes, Cryer offers his own endearing perspective on Hollywood, the business at large and the art of acting.

This was an… interesting book.
The katie‘s writing style is 👌🏼 and the story line was Original and amazing. But the idea wasn‘t executed well. It‘s pretty fast paste and got me through a reading slump but that‘s the only good thing about it.

Celebrities looking to write a bio should take a clue from Cryer. He writes a bit about himself personally, but he sticks to mainly interesting and amusing things about his career. He tells enough to feel you know him better but never gives TMI that makes you want to cringe. He remains classy even when dishing a little dirt. I enjoyed his book and I‘ve never even seen Pretty in Pink. (But I will after reading this book.)
