The beginning read like a fast paced retelling of Jane‘s acquaintances and youth, but it began to drag as she found herself dealing with writer‘s block, loafing off of her family, and pouting. I just expected my favorite author to be portrayed in a more flattering way, even in her flaws. While I understand that this was part of her life as well, it could have been glossed over to allow more focus on the publication of her novels.
“I am too old to be offended by facts.” ~ George Austen, Just Jane. This is a loose re-telling of Jane Austen‘s life and publication of her novels. However, I think the author captures the essence of her observant nature and astute assessment of human behavior very well.
