I enjoyed reading new stories about characters that I already knew, even if I gotta admit that I read this book mostly out of nostalgia ^^
I wasn't expecting this book to be what it is. I expected more of the story and I should have read about it. I avoid summeries and reviews until I read and sometimes that comes back to bite me. This is just an add-on after thought. I'm a little sad right now. Time for the book hangover to officially set in on this series. I so wanted more. The trilogy was epic.
I love the red queen series and the stories in this book add to it perfectly! I enjoyed reading it a lot and it makes me what to read the series all over again!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“ Did you wait, Cal? “
“ I'm still waiting “
This must be what it feels like for a gravitron to fly. Somehow my stomach drops and leaps at the same time.
“ And how are you? “
“ Better. “ Not perfect. Not whole. I'll never be whole again.
I can still hear him in my head. You think I can't lie through pain, he said when Tyton got too close. You think I haven't done it a thousand times?
Even without her lightning, Mare Barrow still manages to strike me through.
Between the whiskey and the hearty meal, Julian, Sara, and Nanabel are quick to retire to their bedrooms, leaving me to stare over the table that's now in disarray.
It's a battlefield of empty plates, bread crumbs, and drained teacups, with knives and forks stained with sauce like swords in blood.
“Any idea what you're going to say?” Kilorn glances at me sidelong and I still my face, trying to hide the torment beneath. My mind whirls, a hurricane of every thought I've had over the past months. Everything I've wanted to say to him.
I missed you. I'm glad I went away. It was a mistake to go. It was the right thing to do. I'm sorry I killed him. I'd do it again if I had to. I need you now. I want more time. I love you. I love you.
Not sure
Where will these people take us?
It doesn't matter.
I'll always go.
“I'd fight for you. I always have and I always will.“ His reply is quick, withour much thought.
“Even if Ptolemus Samos became the most stalwart champion of Red equality, even if he saved a boatload of newborn Red babies, it still wouldn't balance the scales.“
I really enjoyed this series and this “last” book helps to tie some loose ends as well has give some back story. My heart still hurts from the ending of “War Storm” because as I mentioned in that review I was a fan of the wrong people. I appreciate why I‘m just sad. Just going to review the novellas for this series and hopefully enjoy this series again.
My mind: I am done and over this series. I can start a new series now!
My heart: NOOO HOW COULD HIS HAPPEN TO ME! 😭
What should I listen to, Brain or heart?
They're self-obsessed cowards no matter who the pledge alliance to, only willing to fight what they know they can defeat.
I‘ve read the Red Queen series a number of times, but after this last reread, I wasn‘t ready for it to be over, so I decided to read this too. I had avoided it for so long because I was happy with the “real” ending— female independence, hope for the future, yada yada yada. But I actually really enjoyed this. It let me stay in this world a little longer, and the last 5 minutes genuinely made me smile. Read it if you just can‘t let them go yet. 7/10
I was so exited when I found out that War Storm wasn‘t officially the last part of the Red Queen story. This book was so amazing. It was so cool to see so many story‘s from other people. I was so disappointed to find out that Maven actually might have been able to change. This was a great add on to the Red Queen series. 9/10
He could have been saved!😖
This was only worth it for the Fire Light story and the last report because I NEEDED RESOLUTION THAT I NEVER GOT IN WAR STORM. How you poor souls that kept up with the series went A WHOLE YEAR with no resolution is beyond me. I‘d be dead!!!!
I am so glad to have everyone's story finished up with a pretty little bow.
This series was absolutely amazing 💜💜 I fell in love with the characters and their stories. My favorite character of all Maven 😍 had a small short story in this and it made me cry because he could have been saved, I just know it 💜🔥🔥he was just too stubborn.
"A lie will raise me up and one day another lie will tear me down" - Mare Barrow
It was really to spend some time in this world one last time. This was truly an amazing series.
This is my favorite relaxing time when I can sit at Noodles and Company and eat their mac and cheese while reading 💜💜

I cannot make up my mind whether I like the book or hate the book...
(Thank God,I choose to read the ebook version)
While this book is 480 pages, it goes quickly with maps, journals and notes, including two stories previously released and a few new stories. The best, and longest, Iron Heart is really the reason to buy the book for, a story in Evangeline, Elane, Mare and Cal‘s POV taking place after War Storm. While the story is satisfying in tying up some loose ends, the book is a bit dense. Never the less, I did enjoy a glimpse back into this world.
I finished the Red Queen series last May after War Storm was released, and I was so exited to hear that Victoria Aveyard was releasing one more collection piece for the Red Queen world. Spending this Sunday reading and cuddling with my husband and dogs 🥰📖
