I heard an interview with the owner of this bookstore. When asked how she came up with the name, she said it was based on her two favorite literary characters: Francie Nolan (A Tree Grows in Brooklyn) and Scout Finch (To Kill a Mockingbird). What would you name your bookstore using your favorite characters? Mine would be Millhone & Gamgee. Or maybe Kinsey & Sam.
Amiable I adore “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.” 😍 I‘m a huge John Irving fan, so I‘d probably pick something like Owen & Garp. Or Homer & Larch. 😀 1w

Leniverse Oh, that's tricky. Especially since that shop name is alliterative and I love alliteration. I need to give this some thought 🤔 1w

Leniverse I wanted to use Elizabeth Bennet but having trouble finding another E or B to combine with her ? Trying out "Vane & Vimes" for Harriet Vane (Dorothy Sayers character) and Samuel Vimes (Discworld). It has a certain ring to it. Vane & Vimes Books. It would obviously specialise in crime, feminist, economics and class war/social mobility literature. 1w
Meshell1313 Ooh fun! I immediately thought- Carraway & Dubois (edited) 1w
Amiable @Leniverse I‘m with you —I also love alliteration! 1w
