Ever since reading COMING TO MY SENSES I've wanted to learn more about perfume--so I finally made the trip to Twisted Lily in Brooklyn and I may be hooked. I recommend this book wholeheartedly for awaking your interest in scent--but let me just say that I warned you: you'll never smell things the same at again.

Reviewsbylola I worked at Lush for a few years and the founders are very invested in scent and fragrances and how they make you feel. We received a lot of training on it and it was always super interesting. A lot of the tidbits we learned I reflect back to from time to time. 8y
SusanInTiburon I literally have boxes of perfumes. I have a shoebox full of custom samples, all alphabetized and indexed. 8y

SusanInTiburon Twisted Lily is now on my bucket list. 8y
FountainBookstore I collect perfumes too @SusanInTiburon. And I love this post. I've always found it frustrating that my nose gets "tired" and I can't try different smells for hours. But then that's also what makes scent even more ephemeral. Also recommended: Perfumes by Turin and a Sanchez. (edited) 8y
SusanInTiburon @FountainBookstore I love that book! My copy is so marked up I don't even NEED the index it should have had. 8y

FountainBookstore @SusanInTiburon You're right! That book didn't have an index. I think you and I should petition Penguin for an updated edition! For so many reasons. 8y
