Welcome to Litsy!

I liked this as an autobiographical essay, less so as a treatise purportedly defending the genre. I enjoy Perkins' style and I'm looking forward to her full essay collection. I am, however, over defending romance novels. Those who get it, get it. Those who don't, don't. And I'm fine to leave it at that.

Still a pick and worth the short read, but I wish it had been solely an essay about a writer's reading life; no defense of her tastes necessary.
