A sweet fantasy tale about elderly widow Mrs Whitaker, who finds the Holy Grail in a charity shop and brought it home. Next day Galahad came knocking at her door to ask for it, but when Mrs Whitaker refused, Galahad brought her legendary and magical objects in hope to trade for the Holy Grail. Colleen Doran‘s adaptation of this short story from Gaiman‘s Smoke and Mirrors, is really admirable. The artwork is of Medieval looking illustrated ⬇️

Ok, when I saw @jlhammar post the first line of this, I knew I had to get it even though I‘m not a graphic novel reader. My maiden name is Whitaker. My oldest son is named Whitaker. My mother is, of course, Mrs. Whitaker and a close, lifelong friend‘s kids have always called me Mrs. Whitaker too because she always refers to me by my maiden name.

Beautiful pictures and a funny story. I love this graphic novel.

I loved this short. It‘s just so adorable, and so British. 😂 Can highly recommend this BBC recording - its only 30minutes!
