I enjoyed this exploration of the U.S. spaceflight program. It was technical but very accessible, and I liked how Dean wove other journalists' accounts of previous space programs into her narrative. The bibliography is good too.

Well I‘m glad I finally finished this. On the one hand, space travel is fascinating! And the best parts of this book focused on the history and future of American space travel, as well as the astronauts and the space workers. ON THE OTHER HAND! The author‘s voice was barely tolerable. She came off as vapid, out of touch, and creepily into Norman Mailer and Katy Perry. 2.5/5 stars.
Now taking recommendations for better books about space!
Well I didn‘t have time to finish the book (or iron the tablecloth 😳😂) but i‘m as ready as I‘ll ever be for book club today!
That feeling when you‘re hosting book club tomorrow and you need to finish half the book in 24 hours 😱
The moon is down.
Here comes the sun,
leaving orbit.
Angel in the whirlwind,
landing east of Eden.
