this poetry book contains definitely some harder topics that parents or certain kids might not like hearing about. Other kids Will enjoy reading something like this. It also contains a component of rhyming and makes a reader thinking. However, this type of dark humor you must be careful with because you don't want kids getting the wrong idea about death of animals. Although the poems are funny, it is purely meant to make kids ask more questions!
I think this book would be very humorous and compelling to a kid of earlier ages. Although its very demeaning and a little sick or sad to think about, kids find things like this very funny. Dark humor interests them a lot right now and this just might be a good book to keep on the shelves to enjoy whenever!
This book is hilarious. fun for some older children. It can bring a love to poetry in a different way!
This book made me laugh out loud. It is morbid but in a hilarious way. I‘m not sure if I would read this to a classroom because it is all about animals dying. But I personally enjoyed it. It was published in 2015. This book is funny and the illustrations are darker to match the darker theme.
“Here lies a moth without a name, who lived by the fire and died by the flame.”
I don‘t think I would use this in my classroom because it can be sad for the students.
Last Laughs by Jane Yolen is a book that has short rhyming phrases about dark, sad things. I like the rhyming that is used within the book but I think that it could affect some children emotionally. The book references animals dying.
The poems were really funny but I don‘t think I would read it to them. It may be a little to dark for 1st graders, I would maybe read it to older students.
Last Laughs Animal Epitaphs by Jane Yolen, 2012. Poetry. These poems were dark and a little scary but also funny. When we were reading the poems out loud I enjoyed everyone laughing and reading them together. It was perfect for the Halloween season. The poems are short and sweet the illustrations are very funny.
A hilariously morbid book of a collection of poems that are only funny to some, but it‘s different types of poems sharing a common tone.

This is a poetry book. The only thing i like about it is that they mostly rhyme
I would not recommend this book for children because of the content. Maybe for older grade schoolers.
This book was a great poetry book but wouldn't be suitable for kids. The poetry is very descriptive and repetitive. This book allows children to imagine.
