Pickpick

(2007, translation 2011) It's a popular introduction to philosophy, with essays on a variety of subjects, mostly in epistemology, ethics, and teleology. It's very accessible: full of stories and personal anecdotes and light on academic detail, it still has plenty of meat. I especially appreciate how he uses developments in brain science to shed light on (or maybe complicate) questions like free will and our ethical responsibilities to animals.
