Pickpick

This was a very good read. The author presents their points in an easy-to-follow manner instead of listing years and numbers and droning on. MacManus instead writes the information in a narrative. It is very obvious that the author has researched all their information as their writing flows effortlessly from point to point. I would definitely recommend this book to all who are interested in Celts, Ireland, or general history.

CaitZ I've had this sitting on a shelf for a couple of years. Sounds like I should did it out and read it soon. 7y

These represent just a few of the countries I'd like to travel to: Ireland, Scotland, Italy, Egypt. Not pictured: England, Wales, Turkey, Germany, Morocco. If anyone has good non-fiction suggestions for those countries, I'd welcome them. #uncannyoctober

Went to see performance by Jerry Barlow, Celtic Guitarist. Now I feel like reading some Irish books and have none. Any suggestions?

KVanRead One of my favorite authors is Irish - Colm Toìbin. 8y
Nebklvr @KVanRead I've never read him. Where do you suggest I start? 8y

KVanRead Brooklyn is probably his most famous which despite the title also takes place in Ireland. I loved one of his earlier books The Blackwater Lightship. His short stories are good too if you want something shorter to start with. I really enjoyed the collection called Mothers and Sons. 8y
Nebklvr @KVanRead will check them out! 8y
Seshat It is not too late for a non fiction November: How the Irish Saved Civilization. 8y
arlenefinnigan The Barrytown trilogy by Roddy Doyle (The Snapper/The Commitments/The Van) is brilliant. 8y
Nebklvr @arlenefinnigan Great! Thanks! 8y
