Tamarind Woman | 
pickThis 1996 novel was the deepest point of my TBR and I‘m glad I got to it. This was Anita Rau Badami‘s debut novel and I really enjoyed her writing and her characters. We start with Kamini‘s POV, a young Indian woman who has moved to Canada and trying to communicate with her widowed mother Saroja back in India. She remembers fragments of her childhood as they moved around India as her father managed railway development.⬇️
Centique The second half of the book is told from Saroja‘s POV, and as you would expect, she brings a new light to the things her daughter remembered. I would have liked more time spent with Saroja! This is a book about memories and relationships, not about plot or action. A lovely read. 2y
