A graphic novel inspired by the way manga looks. It also had some video game influences, which is not totally my thing. It set up a world of magic full of racism. The main character deals with that while being at a private school.

This is a GN that doesn‘t believe in subtlety, which doesn‘t subtract from the story (black male admitted to all white magic school, must fight evil white head masters and students) but does make me think it would be better for younger audiences and read before a good history lesson on racism in America. I enjoyed the art and the pacing, but am not tempted to read the rest of the series. A good antidote to Harry Potter.
Clear anti-racism story that is strongly reminiscent of HP and with awesome manga-styled art. Lost the thread a little in a couple of spots, but still see appeal for younger teens. Look for it in October. #netgalley
