I mostly liked this book. I read it straight through but...I had trouble connecting with the MC. Muse just didn‘t click with me. I did empathize with her backstory on an emotional level—but her present troubles, the ones that outfitted the arc of this particular story, didn‘t make me hunger for more. That said, I do want to know who she ends up (Yep, that kind of girl 👠), so I might read the next, if I run out of TBRs at some point 😂 😉
so-soI discovered this author this year and I loved the book I read, so I had high expectations for this one. I was excited to read another book by her but, in the end, I was quite disappointed. It's not really a bad book but I wasn't invested in the story and the characters weren't so good either (they weren't bad, just... not good good).
so-soI wanted to love this book. There are so many great reviews for it, it sounded amazing. But I couldn't. It was hard to understand the motives of the heroine. She just didn't seem to know what to do or who to trust, then got mad at everyone but herself for the way things turned out. May try it again.
