As you care for people with your heart wide open, you often don‘t realize how much of what you‘re exposed to is being taken in and held in your body. It isn‘t until later that your body starts to let you know.
Oppression thrives on misunderstanding, alienation, and us/them binaries.

This is a straight therapy book. I only recommend this to people in the helping professions. It has great information on vicarious trauma and outlines a clear self care plan if you are struggling. Also there are great stories in it to highlight the struggle we go through. There were a few parts that were hard to get through but it really opens your eyes to what you might probably be experiencing.
Validating and healing book for anyone who works to make the world a better place.
