I have always loved RaeAnne's books and this one did not disappoint. I love the setting of Cape Sanctuary and the characters are always interesting. She is the queen of sweet romance. I'm definitely reading the rest of this series. #summerromance #sweet #romance

Although billed as romance, this was really more of just a gentle novel about two (adult) sisters and the aunt who raised them. There IS romance, but the characters coming to grips with different aspects of their lives was the driving force of the story. I found myself relating a lot to Daisy (although thankfully NOT because we had similar childhoods!) who tends to be the emotionally reserved sister, taking on responsibility to make sure all the⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) bases are covered & everyone is taken care of. I think it's interesting how some people have an innate need to make sure “things get done“ - I'm definitely one of those people! Daisy's part of the story was an important reminder that that is only one part of me & it's important to embrace other aspects of myself as well.

All in all not a story of high excitement, but an enjoyable read on the line between Romance & Women's Fiction.

Sorry I've been using this tray for a lot of my book review pictures lately!
Just finished this women's fiction story about two sisters and their aunt who raised them. We get chapters from each of their perspectives. It was a sweet book. They each do connect to a love, but I wouldn't call this a romance. I think I felt the strongest connection to Stella, the aunt (who is only 40!). This was a nice and quick summer read.

TheAromaofBooks I just finished this one today, too! I quite enjoyed it - found myself relating quite a lot to Daisy. 4y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Pretty ❤️❤️ 4y
tracey38 @TheAromaofBooks I could probably relate a little to each one. I'm reserved like Daisy. I may be more her the more I think about it. I think what jumped out at me regarding Stella was going through the infertility treatments. 4y

#WeeklyForecast - I was trying to get a picture of the garden/pond as well! Lots of potential directions for this week's reading. The books on the left are my current reads. I am finally into my next batch of 87th Precinct books. The Switch and Bryony & Roses are my new #LMPBC books. The others are just for fun/are library books I have had for MONTHS!
@Cinfhen

Helen19 @TheAromaofBooks I‘ve had library books since March which are still unread - they‘ve extended them until end of August but I need the pressure of a deadline to make me read them! 4y
TheAromaofBooks @Helen19 - Right?? They're just reopening our libraries (curbside) and all of a sudden I find myself thinking that maybe I should actually read these books I've had since the first week of March!? 😅 4y
Helen19 @TheAromaofBooks Yep! Ours are starting to do collections on Monday and my first thought was ‘really should read the ones I‘ve got‘. Second thought was to look for which new ones I can get at my nearest branch 🤦🏼‍♀️ (edited) 4y

I haven't been to Target since before the pandemic but my sister and I went in quickly today as I have looked in the few local groceries I go to for cleaning wipes and can't find them. Did find one finally at Target. Anyway, I have to check out the books, looking for 1 in particular I didn't find. But did end up with this haul.

Klou I LOVED The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes! My sister will be finishing it in about ten minutes and has loved it too!!! I really hope you enjoy it! 4y
tracey38 @Klou I've heard mixed reviews but am staying positive that I'll love it as I did the bbn original trilogy. Started it last night and though I didn't get far into it, I like it and am intrigued as to what will happen. 4y

A solid “women‘s fiction” story. I‘ve only read RaeAnne Thanye‘s romance stories before this one (I love them!). This was not my favorite of hers but a solid story nonetheless with multiple POV‘s and I enjoyed the way things worked out for every character.

I do not recommend the audiobook-way too many breath sounds in the second half and it was super distracting🙉
