This was my #bookspin for October and I really enjoyed it. I loved the setting: a convent in 1570, Italy. I loved to read about the quiet life that nevertheless was just as scary calculating as a schoolyard.

After all that fantasy I was in the mood for dome historical fiction. Monastic life had always intrigued me a little and in a certain way the structure of it attracts me.

there is....a kind of comfort to be gained from the passing of time: hour upon hour, day upon day, time falling like thick flakes of snow, the next laid upon the last, again and again, until what has been is gradually covered over, its original shape and color hidden under the blanket of what is now
