Friendship, fear, loneliness -- these are things that are universally experienced but difficult to describe. In this arresting poetry collection, Synne Lea explores these concepts and more through the thoughts and experiences of a family. As the family members examine their connections with each other and the world around them, they gain a deeper appreciation of love and friendship and learn how to reach beyond the confines of their own isolation.Accompanied by breathtaking artwork, these enchanting poems will stay with readers long after they have turned the final page.

Synne Lea's "You and Me" (Du og jeg) is a beautiful and heart-wrenching book, on how it feels to miss grandfather after his death. It makes you read the lines aloud, dive into the illustrations, cry a bit, share these thoughts with someone close and be extremely grateful if your grandparents are still alive.

I'm fascinated by this illustrated children's book, which isn't yet on Litsy, so I've tagged one of the author's other books. Synne Lea is a Norwegian poet. "Du og jeg" ("You and Me") is one of her books, fabulously illistrated by Stian Hole, who uses powerful visual expressions to convey the intensity of the book's message.

#WinterWonderland Day 29: This surreal book has #ICanSeeTheSunInLateDecember vibe to it. There is continuously a mention of the weather, and how it brings certain emotions into light. There is the hint of summer and winter with its concealed sadness. This book may not be for everyone; some may find it too obscure or too disconnected. Yet, its realness spoke to me, this curious way of perceiving the world with quiet longing. https://wp.me/pDlzr-hMI
