A Cotswold Christmas
A Cotswold Christmas | Kate Hewitt
8 posts | 13 read | 3 to read
Welcome to Wychwood-on-Lea a not-too-quaint village where frosty evenings, welcoming fires, and second chances will make this a Christmas youll never forget. Anna Vere has escaped to the Cotswolds for Christmas to try to heal from her broken engagement and, far worse, her broken dreams. When her reserved room at a bed & breakfast is flooded, she takes up the offer of camping out in Willoughby Close, the converted stables of the nearby manor house and is taken under the wing of sexy local carpenter Colin Heath. What starts out as merely helping a neighbor in need turns into far more as Colin and Anna share a surprisingly intense and emotional connection, weaving their own Christmas magic as they spend the holiday together. But Anna has a secret shes scared to reveal, something that could destroy the fragile bond theyve just created, and Colin knows shes only in England for a short time. Can these two sudden soul mates risk their hearts for a love that has yet to be tried and tested? Get swept away by this poignant and heartwarming story, set in beautiful Wychwood-on-Lea, in the English Cotswolds. And look forward to four more books set in Willoughby Close, where everyday miracles and happily-ever-afters are guaranteed.

I really enjoyed this book which is a good introduction to the Willoughby Close series. Based on this I would to return to the other books in the series.

It‘s that time of year where I read some “low-brow” Christmas-themed books. Found A Cotswold Christmas (Willoughby Close 1) on Audible as a freebie included in my subscription. It was OK, thought I‘d give part 2 a go, but I found it a bit bland and am unlikely to bother with the rest of the series. The series is very much aimed at the US market the location is more an American‘s idea of the Cotswolds than actual reality.

TheEllieMo And the main character in the second book is described as having a Mancunian accent but is read by the narrator with a Received Pronunciation, which really put me off! 3y

I expected more Christmas from this book, what with the word Christmas being in the title. I couldn‘t even call this cute, but it was a quick read. An American goes on break to the Cotswolds and meets a local after finding her B&B flooded. Love and angst ensue, and what seems like only two pages mention Christmas. 🤣😂

I bought this when it was free on Amazon and read it over the Christmas weekend. I loved it! Looking forward to reading more sweet romances from this author.
