As prep for my first trip to Delhi in 2018 I downloaded this and then promptly forgot it! I am coming to the end of my 5th and finally it resurfaced. This is all that is good but also bad about travel writing. The author clearly loves the city and immerses himself in its story and people. He takes us along for a great ride through the history and culture and it‘s fascinating… and yet there is also something a little exploitative in the way ⬇️

Difference between Hindu and Islamic architecture. He‘s spot on about how organic and chaotic Hindu stuff can be. It conforms with the general theory of tolerance that Hinduism espouses.

Dark and ill-smelling, not on the same plane as whites. Sigh.
