Neighbourhood Threat
Neighbourhood Threat: On Tour with Iggy Pop | Alvin Gibbs
After splitting up with British punk band the UK Subs, Alvin Gibbs received a call from his old friend, Hanoi Rocks guitarist Andy McCoy, "How would you like to be on a world tour, playing bass for Iggy Pop?" What seemed like any rock musician's dream gig became an odyssey of surreal decadence. Gibbs embarked upon a global tour with Iggy Pop. Two hundred and thirty nights of Iggy's unique brand of performance in just about every major town and city across six continents. Neighbourhood Threat features drugs, booze, professional Japanese groupies, and the emotional experience of vomiting while Johnny Thunders of the New York Dolls has wild sex on the other side of the bathroom. Follow Iggy Pop around the globe as his band send Don Everly into a violent rage, party, hard with Guns 'n' Roses, pretend to ignore David Bowie, and learn all about the bowel movements of Julio Iglesias. Neighbourhood Threat was originally published in 1995 by Britannia Press Publishing. The new Codex edition includes previously unpublished photos, an updated Iggy Pop discography, and a new 'Outro' (an update on developments since 1995).
