It‘s Chinese New Year, and Goldy‘s sent to deliver turnip cakes to her neighbours. But she hasn‘t had her breakfast yet, and she‘s still everso sleepy... A Chinese-American retelling of Goldilocks. Great fun, lots of information on Chinese New Year traditions, a recipe for turnip cakes and a happy ending! #BBRC #A2Z

Think Goldilocks and the Three Bears in this Chinese New Year version. Poor Goldy has no luck, and this becomes evident when she brings turnip cakes to the Chans, only to fall victim to sleepiness. There are many lessons to draw from this one, and it‘s a wonderful glimpse into the yearly Chinese traditions. The end includes a brief description of the Chinese New Year and a recipe for turnip cakes! Letter G for #BBRC #A2Z

My son picked this out at the library the other day, and it is so cute! A retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears set on the Chinese New Year (with a little explanation of the holiday in the back for children), it focuses on Goldy making little mistakes that she later makes right and how maybe she makes her own good luck. My son loves this book, and he was so fascinated by this holiday that our family doesn't usually celebrate. Winner!

MaureenMc My 5yo daughter absolutely adores this book! We have read it so many times. Awesome vocabulary, too. 8y
