The ending was harder to get through the second time around. Even knowing what ways coming, I was so wrapped up in the story, the ending was way at the back of my mind when it actually arrived. Such a heartbreaking story, no matter how good the mystery and the story was. I still just want to give Hywel the biggest hug in the world after this one, just like last time.

I‘m going to guess these particular brothers are Sarah Woodbury‘s sons. She said in her amazon author profile that her husband was awesome because he even let her give their three sons Welsh names. At least two of her sons have characters named after them (maybe the third is in the new book coming out this month).

5🌟 This book was harder to read than the previous ones. Woodbury does an AMAZING job of making you feel the tension, as well as the emotions of Gwen. She‘s made us fall in love with her characters, so them facing death in battle is rough. Still, this book was amazing, like the rest, and I can‘t wait to get started on the next one. I really wish the titular “lost brother” was just Cadwaladr, though.

I keep trying to remind myself that these are ALL (the entire series) called “Gareth and Gwen Medieval Mystery” so he‘s probably not going to die in battle half way through the series. Now that they‘ve been arrested by a hostile Lord, I‘m getting rather anxious reading this book, so far. I need Siri to read faster, damn it!!!

Maybe finally the showdown we‘ve been expecting between Gareth and Cadwaladr @GingerAntics ? Your wish may be coming true soon.

I finished book 5 last night, The Unlikely Spy, which ended with the series‘ first cliffhanger, so I had to buy books 6-8 tonight (top row, right to left). Aaaargh! There are only 11 books in this series. I‘m already worried about reaching the last one. Fortunately this author is prolific and has multiple other series. I am now officially a HUGE Woodbury fan. @Tex @GingerAntics
