What a strange read - incredibly disconcerting these are macabre tales which take gruesome twists and turns both surreal and unsettling. Definitely a book i had put down after reading a couple before returning to the fray. It's worth reading if you like feeling uncomfortable, definitely unique. I returned the book to library and found this suitably gruesome image in the museum attached, im sure the author would approve.

ColleenIsReading That really is the perfect pic! 6y
batsy Great review and photo! I loved Fever Dream so I'm very keen to check this out. 6y
Lindy I‘m intrigued. Fever Deam didn‘t exactly leave me wanting more, yet there‘s something bewitching about it, so I might give this a go. Great photo match! 6y

If you enjoyed Fever Dream then this is the short story collection for you! I wasn‘t a huge fan but I admire the creativity and can say that 3 or 4 of the stories in this collection will stay with me: Headlights, Toward Happy Civilization and The Heavy Suitcase of Benavides. These are surreal and provocative- a work in translation by the spanish author Schweblin and translator Megan McDowell. 228 pages and worth the read.

CaroPi What is your favorite genre? 6y
Booksnchill @CaroPi literary fiction or mysteries 6y
CaroPi For contemporary fiction I recommend Laura Restrepo she is amazing. The short stories of Gabriel García Márquez are also great and underestimated. Of course Isabel Allende... All of them are translated to English. 6y
Booksnchill @CaroPi thanks I will look into those!! 6y
