This is pretty cute. It focuses on how two grad students transition from friends to girlfriends, with disability rep and plenty of tasty food mixed in.
In a lot of ways, though, it‘s too real. Simkiss peppers the text with the sort of small talk that happens in everyday life but doesn‘t add much to our understanding of the characters or drive the story forward. The book could‘ve used more emotional cues in place of this conversational padding.
