1. Ravenclaw, though Pottermore lost my sorting hat results after a few years and reassigned me to Gryffindor 😱
2. Yes, I was (am) a huge nerd. Even got the top student in English prize in my HS class of 600 😂
3. The Poisonwood Bible. And Shakespeare. In college, A Room of One's Own.
4. 1000 Acres by Jane Smiley. Also I hated the Monas ed of Crime and Punishment (summer reading😵).
5. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest or Shakespeare history plays

bookandcat For junior year in HS, summer reading was: all 3 books of LOTR, Jane Eyre, and Pride and Prejudice plus two movies (Elizabeth; Shakespeare in Love). For senior year, Crime and Punishment, Snow Falling on Cedars, The Poisonwood Bible, and a book off a list (I did Secret Life of Bees) plus a ten page paper on themes of Tolstoy's "every happy/unhappy family" quote. Loved the books but don't miss the stress. What was everyone's summer assignments? 6y
Mandigolightly @bookandcat oh wow that‘s a lot! We never had summer reading in school. It was just me and a box of garage sale paperbacks all summer long (edited) 6y
bookandcat @Mandigolightly wow! We always had sooooooo much but I think they've changed it to be less with more recent graduating classes in my old district 6y
