Y: The Last Man, Vol. 5: Ring of Truth | Brian K. Vaughan
WINNER OF THREE EISNER AWARDS. Yorick Brown, the last man on Earth, finally makes it to San Francisco where his unbalanced sister, Hero, finds him seemingly succumbing to the male-killing plague after losing his still-unused engagement ring to the burqa-clad agents of the Setauket Ring. But is the ring really the key to his survival? And what does it have to do with the mysterious Amulet of Helene, which the Setauket leader is determined to take from Agent 355 by any means necessary. Collects issues #24-31 of the runaway hit Vertigo series by Brian K. Vaughan (EX-MACHINA, ASTONISHING X-MEN, RUNAWAYS) and Pia Guerra.

So many theories about what caused the plague in this series, but which has the ring of truth. A few threads are pulled in this installment, closing some plot hole threads, but opening some new ones.

I will definitely continue this series! It‘s hard for me to read graphic novels most of the time, but this was an easy read!

This volume packs a lot of revelations into the story, including how Yorick and Ampersand survived the plague. There‘s also a family reunion for Yorick, with all the bad blood hopefully washed away. But Dr. Allison Mann runs into a problem with her plague research after Ampersand is monkey-napped!

A big thank you to @melrailey for introducing me to this book! What a great premise and the art is fantastic. I have not read this one before and who doesn‘t love a monkey companion. I can‘t wait to read the next book.

melrailey Yay! I‘m so glad you liked it. I love this series and everything by Brian K. Vaughn. 7y
