Goodbye God, I'm Going to Bodie
Goodbye God, I'm Going to Bodie | Calamity Jan
1 post
When Meggie and Paige and a kid named Johnny uncover the missing diary in the ghost town of Bodie, California, they have no idea what secrets had been buried for over a hundred years. Bodie--once known as the Wildest Mining Camp in the West--comes to life through the words of the unknown girl whose words, Goodbye God, I'm going to Bodie have become a legend. The Ghostowners set out to discover Anna's secrets, but uncover a whole lot more than they had bargained for.

I got to visit Bodie State Historic Park during last weeks camping trip. Bodie is one of the most well preserved gold mining ghost towns. It was fascinating and spooky. Naturally I walked away with a couple of books and a bookmark but I didn't take anything from the park as I didn't want to fall victim to the mysterious Bodie Curse. 👻

mrp27 @Ddzmini Rigjt?! That house with all the windows belonged to the wealthiest of the Bodie residents. 6y
Ddzmini Yea I could imagine 😳 and keeping the windows clean in all the dirt and dust must have been fun 6y
readordierachel Ooh, what's the curse?? 6y
mrp27 @ReadOrDieRachel There are letters from former visitors saying they took a rock, a nail, a piece of broken glass etc. and afterwards they experienced a run of bad luck. Some visitors went so far as to mail back the items they took. Of course nay sayers say the curse is a hoax, something the Rangers say to keep people from taking items from the park. I wasn't going to chance it! 😝 (edited) 6y
readordierachel @mrp27 Better safe than sorry 🙃 6y
