A charming and funny story of friendship, fine dining, and being true to yourself, from Tadgh Bentley, the author/illustrator of Little Penguin Gets the Hiccups--perfect for fans of Love Monster and I Don't Want to Be a Frog!Samson wasn't like other piranhas. While other piranhas stayed close to homeHe wanted to explore the world. And while they stuck to the same old routine, swimming and chomping and scaring, Samson liked to try new things Most of all, Samson dreamed of eating fine foods at fancy restaurants. So when not one but THREE new restaurants come to his corner of the sea, Samson can't wait to try them all. There's only one problem: With their big teeth and scary smiles, piranhas aren't really welcome anywhere, let alone in fancy restaurants. Can Samson make his dream come true--and still be himself?

“Piranha!”

This would be a great book to read to students to not judge a book by its cover. It also encourages students to overcome their problems. Would make a great writing prompt.

Week 3: Graphia. Such a cute story about accepting everyone and how people are different. The illustrations are very cool throughout. Would definitely read again. Published Feb. 7, 2017

A quote I liked from the book was “Just because you're a Piranha doesn't mean you can't have good taste.“ I liked this quote because it shows someone finally saw Samson true colors.

I would use this book in my classroom to teach children not to judge a book by it's cover!

The book Samson by Tadgh Bentley was published in 2017 and was written about a Pirahana named Samson. Samson has trouble being allowed to be at fancy restraunts because everyone thinks he will be angry. Finally he is accepted and his differences are celebrated. Great book!

This book would good read for a classroom. Throughout the book Samson the piranha is trying to go into a fancy dinner. But has to wear a disguise because he is a piranha. The images throughout the book are good for visuals as well as the word bubbles from the characters.

My favorite part of the story is when his cover is blown for the second time. As fish run from him, he notices that he‘s not the only fearsome fish wanting to experience fine dining.

This story follows a piranha named Samson. Samson dreams of dining at the fanciest of restaurants. However, he wasn‘t allowed to eat at one because he was a piranha. He tried to disguise himself at two restaurants, but he failed. He eventually realized he was the only one that wanted to eat fancy food. This is a great story for teaching kids to treat others with kindness, even if they‘re different than them.

3 🌟 Samson just wants to eat and try fancy food. He is tired of the same thing day after day. Most people find Piranha scary so when other dinners find out what he is they go screaming away. This story is nice, but nothing special. And the illustrations while well done are a bit dark and green and just make the entire thing unappealing.
