Sweet Clara and the Freedom Quilt is an HF story that would be great for a RA. The book shares how Clara, a slave and seamstress, sews a quilt that secretly shares the route of the Underground Railroad. cassandram This sources shares a lesson on how to incorporate it for these purposes. For UDL I would use 3.1 by supplying background knowledge of the Underground Railroad. Then for ESOL strategy I would use 6 to monitor their comprehension. Overall really loved this book!! #ucflae3414f19 5y
DrSpalding This is the kind of book that can support social studies units! Learning about Harriet Tubman through a picture book lays the foundation of knowledge for the students. Excellent choice. 5y
